Tried tasing my brother, barely touched him and he flew in the air. Be careful of touching the metal prongs after, can get ya too. The flashlight is pretty legit too. I'd say it shines a good 100ft, I probably pissed off a neighbor from shinning it in their window.

Install Flash Player PROS: - Effective performance - Great price - Good light - Rechargeable CONS: - Not a fan of the metal prongs - Useless flashlight holder - Don't lose the charging cord Obviously, I haven't tested this on an actual person but I managed to come across an "independent" test by SABRE® - the leading manufacturer of electronic stun devices. SABRE® classified this stungun, the VIPERTEK VTS-195 as a level III (the highest level) stun gun which produces 1 µC or greater - meaning it produces unbearable pain. For all intents and purposes, the pain compliance will only apply to those who are NOT under the influence of a controlled substance and are NOT emotionally disturbed. This stungun falls right in the middle of all the electronic stun devices that classified as a level III stungun with SABRE® (imagine that) ranking at the top. Combine this information with the fact that it is an innocuous looking flashlight with pretty good illumination and it was a no brainer that I wanted to do a review on this. Save for the novelty of it as well as the potential of having real world applications as a personal crime deterrent. If anything else, the spark test of the stungun should be enough of a deterrent! Video and audio cannot truly capture how intensely loud the spark is - it truly has to be experienced to appreciate it. Everyone I showed this to, lit up with a smile or laugh when I sparked tested the stungun. Most of them actually purchased one when hearing the price. Which brings me to the next point, the value factor of this stungun. There were several stunguns that I found on the list that SABRE® compiled which were more expensive than the VTS-195 but only ranked as a level II, or worse, level I stungun. So the value factor alone should be reason enough to purchase this if you're in the market for a real stungun. The illumination of the flashlight is really good but it's non-adjustable, meaning that you're stuck with a spotlight pattern. If you're looking for an illumination pattern that "floods" the area with light (floodlight), you won't find it here. The only issue is the shadow that is projected onto a wall due to the metal prongs that protrude across the housing - necessary to perpetuate a spark. However, it's not a deal breaker for me. SO! This thing works by first turning the on/off switch to the "ON" position. This on/off switch is located in the recessed area within the tailcap. Without the switch in the "ON" position, nothing works - not the flashlight, nor the stungun. This is a safety feature designed to prevent accidental discharges. From there you locate an oval slide switch in the middle of the body. There are 3 positions - OFF, flashlight and stungun. Slide the switch one notch from OFF to the flashlight icon and the flashlight comes on. Slide it into the final notch and the flashlight turns off but it arms the stungun. From there, there is a separate round button that must be depressed to activate the stungun or in layman's terms, make it spark. The flashlight will NOT work when the stungun is armed. I believe this is a safety feature designed to prevent accidental discharges when just using the flashlight in areas deemed safe. It comes with a roughly 8" cord that must be plugged into an AC outlet to charge the built in battery. Vipertek recommends an initial charge of 10 - 12 hours when you first get it. After that, they recommend a 1 - 2 hour charge/month to maintain the charge. Obviously, if you use the light alot or are just plain fascinated with things that arc, you will need to charge it more regularly. I set my oven timer to go off so as to not overcharge the battery which Vipertek contends will shorten the battery life. One more thing, don't lose the cord as it's a proprietary cord, meaning that you will probably not be able to find another cord to charge it BUT it is possible to find a replacement if you look around your home. I recommend that you use this stungun's spark to catch the world's cheapest flashlight holster on fire. You will get more enjoyment from that and less disappointment as it is completely useless beyond 2 or 3 hours of wearing it on your belt. Trust me, don't trust this holster or you will LOSE your stungun. Other than that, it's a really great product. I do caution that care is taken when carrying it with you when going places. As it may be entirely possible for the "sparking prongs" to snag onto a piece of clothing. This may bend one or both of the prongs, maybe break them or worse, pull the entire metal piece out of the flashlight bulb housing. If the latter were to happen, I reason that it would no longer be able to create a visible spark which may render it as useless as the cheap holster.

Aside form it being a awesome little taser the flashlight is crazy bright, took it camping and it lit up the whole side of the mountain. Definitely worth the purchase! Also living in Las Vegas kind of makes it necessary to have one of these... Cheers

Pros: 1. The flash light is really bright - the only other one flashlight that I have that beats it is the Atomic Beam only because you can focus the beam. 2. Has an attached strap that can be slipped over the wist to help keep from dropping it. 3. The stun voltage is very powerful, contact with an attacker should defiantly drop them. Good protection for walking at night. 4. If you are using the flashlight it is very easy to switch to stun. 5. Has semi-concealed power switch which should help keep small children from accidentally shocking themselves. 6. Rechargeable - Don't have to replace batteries all the time. Cons: 1. Belt carrying case is not real sturdy.

I bought this flashlight/stun gun because we had problems with a neighbor's pack of pit bulls getting loose and coming onto my ranch to attack my dogs. There were a couple of nasty incidents which very nearly resulted in some dead dogs on both sides, and I figured it was time to protect my dogs and myself. I was mildly surprised at the weight of this flashlight...it feels solid (which is a good thing). I was also pleasantly surprised at how bright the flashlight is. The ViperTek is rechargeable, only takes a few hours to fully charge, and seems to hold a charge for months, considering only sporadic use. When you activate the stun gun, it's quite loud, again a good thing, as it definitely get the attention of anyone or anything in the vicinity. In fact, the sound alone was sufficient to run off the neighbors dogs when they tried to get inside our fence again. Luckily, I haven't had the occasion to actually use the stun gun, and I hope I never need to, but I have no doubt it would do the job if it proved necessary. You can see the spark and you can hear it for a country mile. It's pretty comforting to have handy, just in case.

This is the real deal folks! I had my doubts when I ordered but when I zapped myself with it I knew. I put on a thick leather jacket and zapped me in the arm for one second and damn near crapped my pants. It burns for a long time and it left a welt on my skin. Definitely Police strength. It's heavy duty and the flashlight is very powerful. Do not try it on bare skin or you will get burned. I have no doubt that 3 seconds of it would take down any man..

I've had a few faders like this one but nothing as powerful as this one and i found out how powerful this one is the hard way!!!! It says VIPERTECH on the unit and for good reason because It bit me like a snake like you wouldn't beleive was being careless because the flashlight was barely glowing and the tazer would not even ark so I assumed since it didn't have enough power to run a led lightbulb (wich hardly consumes a fraction of the power compared to reg. flashlights) I didn't think that it would have enough power left to produce a discharge strong enough to even compare to a 9v battery! Boy was I incorrect some how I ended up causing it to discharge into my chest while I was carring load of food inside from car. Instantly the only thing that came across my mind was let go of everything and pray it stops!!!!! It did the second I dropped EVERYTHING. I've had to go threw tazer training befor and i can say that this VIPERTECH tazer hits 10x harder on a nearly depleted power cell than any other unit I've used with a fresh power cell!!!!!! Highly recommend this model!!!!!

I have had several tasers. Some are mosquito bites some are pit bulls! This one is a pit bull! It's about 7 inches long (iPhone 5s next to it) fits great in your hand while walking. I take it waking to scare off critters not just the two legged kind. It packs a punch with a scary loud zapp! It also has a great bright flashlight. Charges quickly. So don't waste your time or money buying a cute pink purse taser. This is a better price with a better punch.

I shocked myself with it frickin hurt. My finger was on the edge of the lens and I touched it off. It'll wake you up in a hurry. Its loud, scares the crap out of the dogs and makes the women folk scream in terror. Its awesome. Good flashlight too.

I love this stun gun most people don't even know it's one that's the part I like. Most women should carry this item I love it because like I said they don't know they think it's just a flashlight so it they get to close and you fell a bad feeling pull it out girls. It's worth every dime you pay for it. If I lost mine today I'd buy this one again. 12/20/2017, I'd like to say this company was so nice that I lost the charger to these items during my move. I contacted them and true to there word they sent me the new chargers. I'd just like to let you know how good this company is. I'd like to find out if this store sells Ultraviolet led flashlight.
